My Heart in Rural Sri Lanka: A Testimonial for Akuratatha

Volunteering with Akuratatha hasn’t just been the best experience of my life; it has been a total shift in perspective.

What started as a commitment to teach English in rural Sri Lanka quickly transformed into a family for life.

Since I first stumbled upon Akuratatha in 2024, I have been involved in teaching monks, children, teenagers, young adults, and girls at a children’s home.

Akuratatha operates with a level of love and dedication that is rare. They don’t just provide a roof; they provide a home where dreams are allowed to grow for all – children and adults.

Every child deserves a future, yet for many in Sri Lanka, the road to higher education is blocked by a lack of structure and resources. Seeing such immense potential met with limited opportunity is what drove us to act. Now, witnessing how education transforms their lives and opens doors to a brighter future, we can see the real, lasting impact we are making together.

Every effort has been rooted in the foundation Akuratatha built. I am deeply honoured to walk this journey alongside them.

Your “normal” day is often someone else’s dream.
